Celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the first Weather Forecast
The Royal Meteorological Society's 2011 Conference will be held at the University of Exeter, UK, from Monday 27 June to Thursday 30 June.
The conference will form part of the celebrations to mark the 150th anniversary of UK’s first public weather forecast and the publication
of the History of the Met Office. The conference will have oral and poster presentations and workshop sessions and this call is encouraging
abstract submissions in all three of these areas. There will also be invited international speakers who will give keynote addresses on the
global development of weather forecasting and climate prediction.
Proposed Themes
The main themes of the conference are:
- Process interactions at differing scales
- Model development, evaluation and verification
- Prediction and predictability
- Applications and impacts
GAP contributes to the conference by showing the results of his research activity in collaboration with Puglia Region Civil Protection and Physics Department of Bari, Italy.
